Hands on the wheel

In early September, we displayed the car at the Himley Hall Classic & Retro Car Show. There, we met many great car enthusiasts. A surprising number we restoring E-types themselves!
One of these guys was called Scott Perry (pictured here). Noticing the non-original steering wheel we had on the car at the time, he asked if we still had the original? I said we had but it was going to need some ‘TLC’ as the wood was cracked and the varnish finish was badly hand painted. Scott then said “I can help you with that, I restore steering wheels”! What’s more, being a local guy, he then offered to restore ours as a donation to the project!
What a great guy!
True to his word, I get a call about a week later and its Scott asking if he can come and see our wheel. Within the hour he’s at the project and having a good look at our valuable original steering wheel.
So Scott has taken our wheel away to work his magic.
The picture below is of another Jaguar wheel that Scott recently restored, I think you will agree, that’s a beautiful job!
If you have a classic car steering wheel that needs work, contact us at Provision House and I will put you in touch with him.
Thanks again Scott, can’t wait to see the finished result……….
