Beautiful in blue
Along with all the challenges that come with classic car restoration, there are various moments along the way that can be considered as ‘milestones’. These usually generate a sense of excitement as they often mark the completion of something or the start of a fresh task.
For the project, this day actually marked both. It had taken a lot of work to dismantle the front end, degrease and paint-strip the frames, before they could go for a respray. But now, thanks to Jon Crump Restorations we were collecting the shiny blue result of all that preparation work.
For the first time, we could actually see what the rest of the car will eventually look like, when it too is resprayed Opalescent Silver Blue as these frames have been. I think you will agree they look stunning, which is so important, for as soon as you raise the huge bonnet, they will be on display.

The colour reproduction in the photographs here really don’t do it justice. It’s actually a very fresh and vibrant colour that will make the whole car look very luxurious indeed.
Now that this has been done, we will soon be able to begin the front suspension re- assembly. Whilst the frame was away all of the suspension parts have been stripped, blasted and repainted.
In addition, thanks to SNG Barratt Group, all new bushes and ball joints have been installed in readiness for the re-build.
