Training and Work Experience Testimonial
Business and Admin
Single Mom, Resident of Dudley
“I found this would be a great opportunity for me because I was a single parent on low income, no child support and I had not worked in 5 years”
When I first became aware that Provision House do a training and work experience programme, I jumped at the chance to join the course. I found this would be a great opportunity for me because I was a single parent on low income, no child support and I had not worked in 5 years since having my child. Being a single mom, I found it very difficult to find a job to fit within school hours and around my child’s needs. I missed working and now my child was of school age this was the perfect opportunity to finally do something for myself.
The year before I had joined the programme, something very traumatic had happened to me and my child which turned our world upside down. The Provision House team welcomed me to the course and in the matter of weeks I found my smile again. The training course was amazing, I discovered things about myself I had long forgotten. I gained my confidence back and found my passion and desires again. It’s incredible how the course provides you with learning and work experience at the same time, its suitable for adults of all ages, learning levels and ability.
“The Provision House Team welcomed me to the course and in the matter of weeks I found my smile again.”

“I quickly learned how to communicate with clients over the telephone, firstly by doing evaluation calls then moving on to booking deliveries.”
I did my work experience with the business and admin team in the main office. I quickly learned how to communicate with clients over the telephone, firstly by doing evaluation calls then moving on to booking deliveries. I connected with people of all walks of life, learning about their past and current situations. Discovering people’s struggles was sad, but the best part of the job was hearing how happy and grateful people were for the support Provision House had provided for them, and this gave me such satisfaction to know I had been a part of making a difference.
The job club was a great advantage also. With the help of Dinesh I managed to update my CV so well, that I started getting job interviews almost immediately. To my surprise I got a job two weeks before the course had ended, and I am now a Support worker with Provision House Food Club, I also continue to volunteer an extra day.

“Starting the training and work experience programme is the best thing I have done…”
Starting the training and work experience programme is the best thing I have done, Provision House saved me and now i want to continue helping others and being part of such an amazing place. Provision House does such amazing things for people and I am so proud to be part of it, it gave me a new sense of life and I genuinely don’t know where I would be without this place.

If you really have the drive to do something, go for it, keep focused, and don’t give up. This course is a great way to get the ball rolling, you’re on the right track.
If there is one thing I have learned since joining this programme is that; there is a light at the end of the tunnel, just keep pushing forward and something will surely come your way.”
If I can do this, anyone can. keep going, you got this!
“If there is one thing I have learned since joining this programme is that; there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
